The Harrisburg Church and the Church at Sauk City have, from the very beginning, been closely associated with each other. In the early years they shared the same minister and had the same kind of problems. After the Zion Church in Town of Prairie du Sac was organized the Harrisburg Church and Town of Prairie du Sac Church became one charge served by the same Pastor. In 1942, while Rev. Frank Settlage was Pastor, the Harrisburg congregation was able to celebrate its 75th anniversary. During the past years this congregation tried valiantly to maintain its own, but the membership gradually decreased. Upon the permission of the Synodical Council authorizing the transfer of the membership to the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Sauk City, on May 18, 1958 they became part of our congregation in a service conducted by Rev. Bixler. The church building and other Harrisburg property was sold. At our last annual meeting on January 11, 1959 Ervin Sprecher of the former Harrisburg consistory, was elected as a deacon of our consistory. We are happy to have these good and faithful members with us and trust that the new relationship will be mutually beneficial.
